About the Business
Scissors Direct was founded in 1994 by part of the same team who ran Christies Hair Supplies way back in the 70's - Ernest Wright and Jim Harland. So needless to say a pool of experience, knowledge and connections were straight away a strong foot hold for Scissors Direct. Their aim was to set up a Hairdressing supplies which sold something a bit different from the same old tried and tested products and to let the hairdressing industry in Northern Ireland know that there are other options out there. So along with the usual brands Ernest Wright trawled the trade shows far and wide looking for key brands that would give hairdressers an alternative. By doing so he ensured that Scissors Direct would be the only Northern Irish distributor for these products meaning the middle man would be cut out of the equation meaning a better price could be offered. By 2000 the sales team had grown to a force of 5 enabling all of Northern Ireland to be covered by Scissors Direct.
