About the Business
Dorothy's international reputation for creative hairdressing has been built up over 40 years. Her natural creative talent has been recognised by some of the most influential people in the hairdressing world. Many have tried to lure her into the "city lights" but Dorothy enjoys having a local salon and says "It was my choice to be in a village with real people".
In 2000 Dorothy first presented panel colouring with her 'Rainbow Colours' at Wembley Salon International, which attracted Jean-Marie in Belgium, who invited Dorothy to do a seminar to inspire famous names from all over the world, with her techniques. It's impact worldwide was huge and led to more offers from salons like Vidal Sassoon and Molten Brown London. This theme is still very much in demand now and can be found in all fashion magazines. One of Britain's most loved and sought after hairdressing icons Errol Douglas stated he couldn't "hold a candle" to Dorothy Hammond's colour designs.
